India-Taiwan Annual Strategic Conference
The Centre for Northeast Asian Studies in Jindal School of International Affairs at O.P. Jindal Global University (JGU, India) will host the first joint India-Taiwan Annual Strategic Conference this year.
This event is going to be exclusively between India and Taiwan’s Social Science academic community. It will be well noticed by the Ministry of External Affairs, India and other Government of India departments.
The conference themes will be:
- Democratic Governance
- National Security
- Foreign Relations
- Identity Issues
- Non-Traditional Security Issues
- Social inequality (gender, education, healthcare, etc.).
NOTE: With one speaker from both sides, with a maximum of 3-4 speakers per theme.
In the month of September (tentative date proposed was September 2), or during the NCCU mid-term week of November 8-18–preferably on a Thursday-Friday.
Given the pandemic easing out, we hope for an in-person event, if the restrictions are still present due to the pandemic, we would switch to online mode.
Duration of the Event
1.5 days, wrapping up by lunchtime on the 2nd day.
With a plan to give attendees a tour of some world-renowned sights after the event for a day or two more.
- The organisation aims to collect the Call of Abstracts by May 30, and the full paper by August 25 (if the conference is held on September 2). If later, the submission date will be changed accordingly.
- JGU’s semester begins August 1st until the last class November 18-20th (15 weeks format each semester).
Manoj Kumar Panigrahi (Manu),
a graduate from IDAS in charge of this event, will be the point of contact for the JGU.
JGU is open to further discuss and understand IDAS students’ viewpoints.
