Application and Enrollment Procedures

Welcome on board! The International Doctoral Program in Asia-Pacific Studies (IDAS) is happy to have you with us.

We have prepared these pages full of resources to make sure that your arrival at National Chengchi University is quick and smooth. As a new student, there will be a number of requirements and procedures you must fulfill in order to complete your enrollment and start your academic journey. We want your experience at IDAS to be a fulfilling one, and we are here to help you achieve your goals. Please read through each page in this section carefully. Prospective students applying for admission to the International Doctoral  Program in Asia-Pacific Studies must meet the admission requirements and complete the enrollment process in due time. International applicants should pay attention to the information on the NCCU Admission website.

Admission requirements

International Students
Admission into the program is based on the review of the following materials:
  • Personal Data Form and IDAS personal statement.

  • Two letters of recommendation (2 different referees).

  • Official transcripts of Master’s degree.
  • Photocopy of TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS scores within 2 years or other documents to prove English ability.
  • Personal honours or other records of awards.
Taiwan Local Students
Admission into the program is based 60% on the oral exam and 40% on the review of the following materials:
  • Personal Data Form and IDAS applicant statements.
  • Two letters of recommendation (2 different referees).
  • Official transcripts of Master’s degree.
  • Photocopy of TOEFL/TOEIC/IELTS scores within 2 years or other documents to prove English ability.
  • Personal honours or other records of awards.
