International Doctoral Program in Asia-Pacific Studies
The International Doctoral Program in Asia-Pacific Studies (IDAS) is the first university program in Taiwan to offer English-taught doctoral studies in Asia-Pacific Studies.
Since 2008, IDAS has been attracting students from all over the world whose research interests are related to the Asia-Pacific region and its rapid development. IDAS adapts “regional research science” as its main developmental strategy, and focuses on issues integral to the Asia-Pacific region.
What We Offer
The IDAS program brings an interdisciplinary understanding of the Asia-Pacific region, and offers students courses and research with a unique optic from Taiwan. It provides interdisciplinary integrated research, and fosters leadership in students by encouraging them to share their academic experiences.
As a doctoral program dedicated to academic excellence, IDAS focuses on giving students the opportunity to become experts in their field, as well as emphasizing the combination of theory and practical research.
Additionally, international students enrolled in IDAS are encouraged to engage in daily exchanges with one another so they can better understand people from different cultures and create a more diverse learning environment.
